Designation: RF Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:
  • Own RF link performance across UAV platforms (airborne and ground segments)
  • Perform complete link budget calculations (FSPL, fade margin, cable losses, antenna gain, polarization losses, etc.)
  • Evaluate and shortlist radios, antennas, RF cables, connectors, and amplifiers
  • Optimize antenna placement considering airframe effects, multipath, shadowing, and BVLOS constraints
  • Conduct RF performance validation through field testing and lab measurements
  • Analyze RSSI, SNR, noise floor, interference sources, and spectrum occupancy
  • Define RF qualification test plans (range testing, EMI/EMC considerations, environmental validation)
  • Troubleshoot communication failures in operational environments

Qualifications.:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics/Telecommunication Engineering or related field.

Desired Skills:
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetics, RF propagation, antenna theory and digital signal processing
  • Experience in communication protocols
  • Working knowledge of test equipment to measure RF performance
  • Project planning and reporting
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Problem solving skills, analytical mindset, attention to detail
  • Ability to self-manage and manage small teams
